Whilst it isn't an original MAD production, it's clear that this moody piece of art originated deep within the mind of a Mad Scientist. Stunningly shot in black and white by writer, director, sculptor and producer Eron Sheean, the film could easily be perceived as a piece of photographic exposition. But it's also a coming of age adventure film, albeit a pretty warped one. A cinematic memento mori that combines abstract plot with a crystal clear emotional thread, the Shore is an exemplar of simple yet unique storytelling.
