A project – or experiment… – that has been four years in the making, wrapped filming at the start of 2021.
Post-production is now in full swing, and boy, it’s already looking so good. We are working hard to prepare GNOMES for a successful festival season.
Kicking off with a selection for this years Marché du Film, Proof of Concept presentation!
This short film will give you a sneak peek into the bloody, vile and horrific world of the killer gnome (a creature hatched by the creative brains of Richard Raaphorst and Ruwan Heggelman). Very much unlike the friendly gnomes we all know from our childhood, these gnomes are bloodthirsty torturers, strategic killers, and most of all: coming to get you…
The feature version of GNOMES is being developed as we speak in co-production with Make Way Film.
It will be raw, funny, and have extreme amounts of gore. It tells the story of Rovi, a girl who – involuntarily – becomes the key player in a secret battle between humanity and gnomanity. Very much unlike the friendly gnomes we all know from our childhood, these gnomes are bloodthirsty torturers, strategic killers, and most of all: coming to get you…
This project will be an homage to multiple horror genres and to the maximum use of practical effects in horror films. The gnomes will be entirely made out of puppetry-practical effects. Only here and there, touches of VFX will enhance the film, but only if practical effects are deemed impossible or too costly for the particular scene.
